Advanced Point and Sighted Shooting
In the Advanced Point and Sighted Shooting course participants will learn how to use their pistol to make advanced combat accurate shots at a variety of distances and different situations and under difficult conditions. Participants will learn how to accomplish precise shot placement when this type of shooting is required and to make rapid combat accurate shots when appropriate. Participants also will learn to make smooth transitions between point shooting and sighted shooting. Dynamic movement will be introduced and after action drills will be taught.
This is not an introductory course and the participant is expected to already know how to use their pistol sights to shoot the handgun they bring to this class. They must also know how to safely draw a pistol from a holster while using a concealment garment. In addition they must have fundamental point shooting skills as some of the shooting will make use of those skills.
Participants will learn to shoot from a variety of positions other than standing. They will learn to use movement while shooting and to use cover if it is available. They also will enhance their ability to transition from point shooting to the use of the pistol sights when the use of the sights is appropriate or required. Making difficult shots will be emphasized.
